Shakedown Circus 5
It was an uphill battle, this one. Something to do with the pandemic and how we had all closed ourselves to company, me most of all.
But we got there. Slowly but surely, and Shakedown 5 created epic results, that included covid by the time it was all said and done.
Shakedown Cast 5
New talents arose and Shakedown5 was where-
The Elephant Act was born.
We had real life set design, for the first time! So simple and elegant (and disposable). Thank you to Rachel and Matt. Especially to Rachel who did not waiver, even when I did. It was a dream come true for me as well, Love.
Also, the grand finalé, was grand, and we would not have gotten there without the talented (hustler) Ashley. Smooches for creating the time against all odds.
Costumes were on point. Thank you to Noel and to two Julies for all the Shakedown custom pieces.
Acrobats 6s to 9s
I am going to add a couple backstage outtakes, so I don’t forget them myself:
Shakedown5 was also where I shot off a confetti cannon by mistake, just before the show began. It was such surprize- and The Mimes were all scared I had hurt myself but I was fine, only laughing so hard because I had prematurely shot off glitter all over my crotch.
The curtains hung in the back ended up looking like a big pair of boobs, pleasantly placed at the back of the stage. It was not intentional. But it was a stroke of Zen Genius.
And let’s not forget, for humility, that I definitely had one to many Maker’s. Thank you to Alyssa for hand-holding and switching my shoes to flats…. when at Shakedown, well, you know.
The Stallions were an incredible boost of male-ness. Audience members gathered at the stage screaming for more.
Enter the Marching Band…, if you did not experience it last May you missed some hot action.
The Marching Band Shakedown 5
and The (teddy) Bears…. a heart wrenching love story, that was soooo honey. I might have cried a tear or two and I bet money I was not the only one.
